Instruction

2m. As a patrol, complete ONE of the following:


  • As a patrol, plan for a camp lasting for a minimum of 3D2N. Include minimally the following details:
    – Date, time, venue
    – Logistics list
    – Involved parties
    – Program flow

    The patrol may use the program from Discoverer Badge.


  • As a patrol, plan for an outdoor expedition lasting for a minimum of 3D2N. Include minimally the following details:
    – Date, time, venue
    – Logistics list
    – Involved parties
    – Program flow

    The patrol may use checkpoints from the Discoverer Badge for their expedition plan.

Reflection

  • 1mi. Were there any difficulties faced when conducting your lesson? 1mii. What is one thing you can learn through teaching your Scouts?
  • 1miii. “The easiest way to learn something is by teaching it.” To what extent do you agree with this statement, explain your answer.
  • 2mi. Were there any diffculties faced when planning for your expedition / camp?

To run this at the troop level with all patrols being monitored by the SPL/TL as per patrol level instructions.

Competencies

  • Social Development
    Scouts will develop their sense of social responsibility by learning and understanding how to plan for a camp/expedition. Scouts will also learn to accept different opinions by working with their patrol.
  • Physical Development
    Scouts would learn more about the requirements of planning a camp/expedition.
  • Intellectual Development
    Scouts will be able to expand their field of knowledge with respect to the various core scouting activities. Scouts will also learn how to plan the programme for a camp/expedition.
  • Character Development
    Scouts will be able to develop their critical awareness of the activity and learn to make sound decisions.
  • Emotional Development
    Scouts will be able to build their confidence in understanding and executing a camp/expedition.

Activity Counts Towards

1m. Be able to teach Scouts pursuing Discoverer Award on the core scouting skills. Lessons are to be conducted online.

2m. Scouts can plan for an expedition/camp without implementing it.
